Following discussion at Bowmoor regarding Nationals being held next year in Wormer or Oostend I am posting a link to next years bank holidays, it was felt that bank holiday ferry prices would be too exhorbitant.

Ronnie,
To further complicate matters here is a list of school holidays in UK.

I would like to go to Ostend and or Wormer in 2019.
I had been thinking that I would like to go to Wormer Regatta again next year anyway and hopefully not quite so much wind.
June or early July would miss the school holidays and high ferry prices.

I was able to attend the September Bosham event for an hour or two on the Sunday after racing was over. Met Roger Proctor( who had sailed a Minisprint Mk 11- photos on display ) and saw Minisail numbers one ( restored wooden hull ) and 10 ( original wooden hull ).
Just back from France 2 or 3 days before so too late to attend and take part, except for towing a bright yellow Monaco past the grass area used for display boats.
Sold a sail to grace the only wooden Minisail built in East Africa ( as far as I know ) . See Simon's posts. that's 4 continents; Africa, the Americas,
Europe and Asia ( i know they were sailed in the MIddle East for oil company sports clubs use ). Tom

"Simon's post" Tom is referring to was on FB.
For those who aren't on FB I wrote an excerpt in a post called 1973 Sprite built in Nairobi (find it in the Boats section of this forum).

Any chance you made pictures from the early Minisails you saw at Boham Tom?

Ronny,
I will try to put up pictures from Bosham. Sad we were not there but they were aware of your apologies. Thanks Rob for prompting us on next year's events. David and I discussed approaching Keyhaven if there's interest for an early year meeting I think.

Combining the Ostend sailing club Inside-Outside calendar and our wishes, we came to a date: The weekend of 8-9 June.
Let me know what you think.

Hi Ronny, 8th & 9th work for me.
The plan is to come over with my wife (and the dog!) with the MS on the roof and bringing the caravan. It would be great if I could leave the boat somewhere for a week or so while we head off with the caravan (to somewhere - suggestions welcomed!), it would also be good to know what might be the nearest option to the venue for staying with the caravan.
Sorry for all the questions :-)
Thanks for organising!
Cheers.
Steve.

The plan for overnight accommodation that weekend would depend on the turnout and your personal preferences.
Since there is no camping facility at the club, we will need to move.
Plan A would be offering you room in my house(-s).
Plan B would be finding a suitable camping in the nearby place called Bredene. I'll go scouting a few shortly to find out which one would be best for the event.
My aim is to keep the cost down, make things simple and easy and avoid scattering the party... Work in progress.

Steve,
No problem for the boat, if not at the club it can find a place in my workshop.

Hi Ronny
The weekend of 8-9 June sounds good to me. Thanks for sorting this out.

Hi Frans
Is your Wormer regatta every year and is it an open event?

Regards to all
John

Just googled DFDS quoting from £45 1, 3 or 5 day return for these dates, Dover to either Calais or Dunkirk.
I can make these dates.
Perhaps we can set up car sharing ? quotes allow up to 9 people for this price (presumably a people mover).

John, the Wormer regatta will be during the weekend following the Ostend Minisail event.
Yes the "Beschuittorenrace" is an open event for small monohull sailing dinghies. The Minisailrace within this race is supported and encouraged by the local club Wormer Watersportvereniging.
